Spartan Stores and Radio Mackinac present the 9th Annual Mackinac Island Music Festival, which was created to celebrate the musicians living and working on Mackinac Island as well as regional and national touring musicians. Genres have included folk, country, rock, blues, bluegrass, classical, jazz and country.
This season, we celebrate the heart of a woman and will feature Michigan’s best female artists. The list is fabulous. On the stage at Mission Point Theatre: Barbara Payton & the Instigators, Laura Rain & the Caesars, Delilah DeWylde & the Lost Boys, Liz Larin & Stacia Petrie Ford. Detroit Unplugged with Audra Kubat, Carolyn Striho & Mary McGuire, Songwriters in the Round at Murray Hotel feat. Michelle Chenard, Juiianne Ankley, Chris McCall and Tasha Lord. Kyle White and the All Star Jam at the Pink Pony at Chippewa Hotel and more.
New this season is the Mackinac Island Musicians Workshop, which is like a BandCamp for aspiring and professional musicians about the ever changing music industry as well as songwriting workshops and master classes.
What started as a one day event began has now expanded to a three-day festival and has become one of Mackinac Island’s most exciting festivals of the season. We hope you will join us on Mackinac Island this season as we celebrate the surroundings with many fine musicians who have dedicated their lives to the art of music.

Artist Submissions: There is no application process. We select artist that are currently nominated or have won a Detroit Music Award and then regional artists that have a large following in Northern Michigan. Artists are recommended by radio program directors as well.
Our Criteria:
Genre: folk, rock, country, blues or a combination thereof
A sold body of original recorded work
Current disc
Radio staff recommendation
Detroit Music Award Winner or Nominee
For those that don't fit the criteria, we ask that you submit your bio and one MP3 for us to play on Radio Mackinac. It is one of the top ten streaming internet radio station in the world for folk, rock, folk-rock and Americana. If there is sufficient buzz, then we would consider the artist for the festival.
